Our Community Wants to Hear Your Story of Recovery from Addiction

Recovery month is a national initiative to promote the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for mental and substance use disorders, celebrate people in recovery, laud the contributions of treatment and service providers, and promote the message that recovery in all its forms is possible.

In order to help celebrate local stories of recovery from addiction, the Drug-Free Coalition is collecting submissions to share in special blog posts throughout the month of September.  We want to show our community that recovery is possible and that we are proud of those among us who are on this journey.

How to share your story
  • Type your story in 500 words or less
  • Send your story to Kate at the Drug-Free Coalition by August 15th.
  • Include your name and contact information (phone or email). In order to respect your privacy, let us know if you would prefer not to have your name shared on the blog post.
  • Look for your story on this blog during the month of September!
To share a flyer with this information, download a printable version here.
